Our Story

Daniel and Davita Owens share the heart behind Community Worship.

Community Worship began with a simple conviction: worship is not confined to a sanctuary and service is not separate from the sacred. God placed on Daniel and Davita Owens's hearts a vision for a ministry where every meal handed to a neighbor and every song lifted in praise is treated as holy work.

"We started Community Worship because we believe God is calling us to more than a Sunday routine. We are passionate about helping people who are hurting, and we believe worship in music is one of the most powerful tools God has given us. Our hearts are for a ministry where everything we do, from handing someone a meal to lifting our voices in song, is recognized as holy. We are living in a time that calls for urgency. Jesus is coming back. Let us spend every day ready."

We see communities transformed by a people who have learned to live differently. Families spiritually grounded. The hungry fed. The homeless seen. A culture of worship that fills homes, streets, and gathering places. Community Worship Ministry exists to be a living expression of the Kingdom of God wherever He sends us.

We do not separate the sacred from the everyday.

Our Mission

To glorify God by serving communities through outreach, musical worship, and intentional daily living, treating every action as an act of worship while preparing our hearts and our neighbors for the return of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

We see a community transformed, not just by programs or events, but by a people who have learned to live differently. We envision families that are spiritually grounded, neighborhoods where the hungry are fed and the homeless are seen, and a culture of worship that fills homes, streets, and gathering places alike.

Community Worship exists to be a living expression of the Kingdom of God wherever He sends us, bringing His Kingdom to every neighborhood, city, and community we are called to serve.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

This statement reflects the core theological convictions of Community Worship Ministry. We hold these beliefs not as walls to exclude, but as foundations to stand on, truths that have sustained the Church across generations and guide us in worship, service, and life.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in nature, power, and glory. He is the Creator of all things, sovereign over history, and intimately present with His people.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, living, active, and sufficient for faith and practice. We read it not as a static text but as the living voice of God, interpreted by the Holy Spirit in the context of community and prayer.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atonement for our sins, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. We believe He is coming again in glory.

John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, present and active in the world today. The Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers. We affirm that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including tongues, healing, and prophecy, are alive and active in the Church today, given for the building up of the body of Christ.

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a free gift, not earned by human effort or merit. True saving faith, however, is never alone. It expresses itself in love, in transformed living, and in sacrificial service to others. We are saved for good works, not by them.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, a gathered community of believers from every background, age, and walk of life. The Church is called to worship, to disciple, to serve the poor, and to proclaim the Gospel. Community Worship exists as a local expression of this universal body.

Ephesians 4:11–13; Acts 2:42–47

We believe in believer’s baptism, the immersion of a person in water following their personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public declaration of a new life in Christ and an act of obedience to His command.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; Acts 2:38

We believe in the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a proclamation of His death until He returns. It is a sacred act of worship shared among believers.

1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Luke 22:19–20

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. This hope is not a distant comfort, it is a present urgency. We live, serve, and worship with the expectation that He is coming back, and we invite all people to be ready.

John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:20

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, those who have trusted in Christ to eternal life, and those who have rejected Him to eternal separation from God. We hold these truths with both sobriety and hope, and they fuel our passion to reach our community with the Gospel.

These beliefs are not a ceiling, they are a floor. We hold them with conviction and with humility, knowing that the Spirit of God is always leading His people deeper into truth. Community Worship is a community of seekers who are also settlers: settled in the finished work of Christ, and always seeking to know Him more fully.

About Us

When Two Became One

Daniel and Davita met in 2014 and were married in 2015. From the very beginning of their marriage, they sensed that God was preparing them for a shared calling. Individually, God had been shaping their hearts through different experiences, gifts, and seasons. Together, He began weaving those stories into one purpose.

In 2015, Daniel and Davita started By Works of Faith Ministries, a step of faith that planted the seeds for the community they would one day build. At the time, they were actively serving in youth ministry and on the worship team while also building their careers and raising their family. Although they believed in the vision, they recognized that the season was not yet right. Rather than forcing what God had not yet released, they chose to remain faithful where He had planted them.

Over the years, they continued serving in their local church, using their gifts wherever there was a need. They led worship, discipled others, supported ministry through technology, and invested in people. In 2025, they opened their home for a neighborhood Bible study. What began as a small gathering soon grew into a thriving community. Through prayer, fasting, and seeking the Lord's direction, God reminded them of the vision He had placed on their hearts years earlier.

With renewed clarity and obedience, Community Worship Ministry, Inc. was born. Community Worship exists to help people understand that worship is more than music or a Sunday gathering. It is a lifestyle. It is a community of believers committed to loving God, loving people, and serving with generosity. Daniel and Davita believe that every act of obedience, every expression of compassion, and every opportunity to serve can become an act of worship that brings glory to God.
